Exhibition Now Open

My exhibition, As Long as it Takes, of recent sculptural works, is now open to the public. It's been a rather manic month or two getting everything ready, but I'm delighted with the result. Please pay a visit to the VG&M Gallery in Liverpool between now and Feb 27th 2010 to have a look.

Past, Present & Future

My second commissioned piece for Merseytravel is almost complete. Standing at 8 metres tall, the piece will shortly be installed at Bootle Oriel Station.

2nd February 2009.
Current / Ongoing Commissioned Work.

Merseytravel: Birkenhead Park Railway Station.

Currently commissioned by Merseytravel to produce a sculpture for Birkenhead Park station the three sculptures will be placed on the platform that connects commuters to the Wirral and Liverpool. The sculpture looks to primarily recognise the significance of Birkenhead Park as the first publically funded park in the world and a point of reference for Central Park in New York. The images contained with the sculptures look to view both the well and lesser known areas of the Wirral and Liverpool all of which are connected from Birkenhead Park railway station.

The sculptures are fabricated in steel with the designs cut using the laser cutting process. The overall height of each sculpture will be 5200mm with a black a powder coat as the final completed surface.

Mereytravel: Bootle Oriel Road Station.

This sculpture is similar to the Birkenhead Park commission and will look to reflect Bootle’s History and the wider Merseyside environment. The final designs for this commission will be presented on 2nd March.

The sculptures will be fabricated in steel with the designs cut using the laser cutting process. The overall height of the sculpture will be 8000mm with a black a powder coat as the final completed surface.

Kensington Community Building

This sculpture will be fabricated is steel and placed on the side of a community building within the Kensington district of Liverpool. The work has been inspired by workshops undertaken with residents from the local community.

Images of the final design will be available by early March

Print

Two recent visits to Berlin have acted as the catalyst to a series of prints that have been shown at the following exhibitions:

1.
2.
3.
4.

The prints contained within this book are, in part, a document of a recent visit to what was once described as a ‘divided city’. The passage of time, ideological reconciliation and reunification has enabled a process of change to take place (link).
