Weaknesses and strengths are invariably the same thing.  The buoyancy that that permits conventional ROVs to hover in the water column makes them vulnerable to current.
They are also limited to the load they can support.

By harnessing well proven salvage techniques, Deep Tek’s Load-Bearing ROV can power and control electro-hydraulic equipment, complete with many of the functions of a conventional ROV – such as constant visual images - combined with heavy lift capability.  This permits greater reliability and cost-efficiency.
